Enjoyable stay in Agadir
Good location. Food offering was good. We were only on bed and breakfast. Breakfast very good. Dinners at the Casbah restaurant excellent.
Getting a bit dated. Needed a lick of paint. Couldn't get our air conditioning to work.

What was the highlight of Dunes d'Or Ocean Club
Good overnight stay with a view of the ocean
If you book a room with ocean view, you are doing the right thing. Then you are far away from the ubiquitous music that fills the space over the pool and goes on until 11 pm at night. You had to scream to make yourself heard when going for a drink in the bar. Rooms are a little run down as they always are in places facing the ocean, but beds where clean and ok to sleep in. Gardens and pool area are kept tidy, so is the beach. The lady at the reception acted like a lunatic, ine could not even guess if she understood a word. Otherwise staff was very friendly. The cooking class which was advertised on the blackboard does not exist anymore we learned - why not take it off the menu then. Food was good, good variety for dinner and for breakfeast.

Good
Nice main swimming pool (although the music is unnecessary in my opinion), as well as a very small 'quiet' one behind. Clean and decent enough room. Great location. Breakfast.buffet OK, no better or worse than expected from a large hotel mostly catering to all inclusive guests.
Staff variable, some friendly and helpful, others not so much. Expected a tip just for showing me to my room (I gave a token amount) without even offering to carry my bags (I could manage fine myself, but surely should at least offer.if they then expect a tip, otherwise they haven't really even provided a service!). Safe didn't work, reception refused to fix it without my presence, so went back to room with them and turned out (as expected) that the batteries needed replacing. Said they would do it the next day, but didn't. As I was only staying 2 nights, I let it go. Personally wasn't really interested in the evening entertainment, but having wandered by think I would have been disappointed if I was, didn't seem very exciting at all. Shame the room has no information about the hotel (hours, restaurant menus, activities). Most modern hotels now have information via the TV, this one didn't even have a printed version.

The hotel its self overall was ok for a short stay, especially if you just want something quieter and a place to soak up
The property was close enough to the airport that a private taxi wasn’t too extortionate (roughly 220dh/ £16) and there were a few shops and restaurants nearby (within walking distance). For my fellow fussy-eaters McDonald’s was only a 15 minute walk away and relatively cheap. Great sundaes! • The pool was a nice size and had lots of sun-beds around main pool. • The food and bar staff were lovely, always smiling and polite, if you are polite to them. The waiters also very friendly and quick to offer drinks at the table, as soon as you were seated. The hotel is good if you want a chilled and relaxed stay. • The beach was out the back of the hotel, but I didn’t go to the beach so I don’t know if there are sun-loungers and if there are, then I don’t know if you’d have to pay for them or not. • There are cash machines along the parade of shops opposite the hotel to withdraw money, they do charge, but you can withdraw smaller amounts of money. • The lobby staff were helpful on the morning of departure, we’d book the return transfer for the wrong date, so they helped us get a taxi to the airport for 200dh - were very kind. • Hair dryer in the room. • Towels were changed daily • Small fridge in the room • We had dinner at the Al a Carte Italian restaurant one night, it was nice and a lot quieter than expected. It doesn’t open on Wednesdays, and you have to book at 4pm the night before you want to visit. • They had some pool entertainment during the day too and games for the whole family to join in with.
Upon arrival at this hotel, I wasn’t greeted very well, which set my mood and view off to bad start. We were the only two people checking in at that time, so we got given our guest forms, told to go and fill them out and then come back over to the desk. That took 2 mins - but then had to join the back of the queue to get them looked at. (Two big families had then formed a queue and were asking loads of questions) There was only one lady on the desk. When she took our forms, didn’t ask for any booking confirmation or details, gave us our room key, pointed to the door said some man will show us to our room - but there was no man there. We ended up taking ourselves. I had paid for a twin room and with a pool view, all-inclusive. We were give a double room with a “pool view” but was covered by trees and no inclusive wristbands. So went to ask if they had any twin rooms as that’s what I’d paid for and how we got the all-inclusive. She did correct it for us, but the twin room again had no pool view at all, was tucked in the corner of the building and was much less modern. To add, this new room was on the complete opposite side of the resort, so we had to again haul everything across. • No alcohol is served at the pool bar - so any alcoholic drinks during the day you have to get from the bar upstairs, or the beach bar. All “take-away” drinks are served in small plastic cups; enough for one mouthful. • Very echoey out in the hallways leading to the rooms. Could hear people walking/talking to their rooms when laying in bed of a night, although it wasn’t very busy so wasn’t an issue. • BEACH TOWELS. You have to pay a deposit of 100dh for each beach towel you want. There is a cash machine in the hotel, conveniently next to the desk, however the minimum amount you can withdraw is 2000dh (£160). You do get the deposit back when you return the towels at the end of your stay, and you can change them daily at the main pool bar.
